Have the Cavs lost their mojo?

I'll start by saying I have a soft spot for the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron is really, really good and fun to watch, and Mo Williams is a darn good basketball player and one of my favorites. But, I just don't see the Cavs as a true title contender right now. I mean, last year at this time everyone had pretty much locked up LA vs. Cleveland for the title, and it certainly looked that way. Let's look at some scary facts for Cavs fans:
2008-2009 home record: 39-2 (whole regular season)
2009-2010 home record: 8-2 (as of Dec. 9th)
2008-2009 ppg: 100.3
2009-2010 ppg: 100.1

Sure the points per game are almost identical, but what's with the home losses guys? In any professional sport defending your home turf is the foundation for building a successful season. Having as many home losses in the first quarter of the season as you did all last season isn't a good sign.

I figured that bringing in Shaq would be a home run, and would be what they needed to get them over the hump. I mean, he had a monster year last year, and he brings great experience, but now it looks like he's slowing things down.

Sure it looks like they're finally getting momentum, but two or three more home losses before Jan. 10th and I'd be worried.

I dunno, from here to the all-star break they have a lot of proving to do and a lot of work that needs to be done.

*side note: don't even get me started on LeBron dancing. I mean, c'mon, you're a professional, if you want to dance in the locker room after a win: fine. But, let's not do it in front of the other team.

  1. Yeah, I put up 58 points with Mo Williams in the first game I ever played on NBA Live 10 against my buddy. Completely irrelevant but that's about as far as my NBA knowledge goes outside of the fact that the Pacers aren't too good.
