The top 5 Soccer games of the 2000's (arguments perfectly welcome)
5. Manchester United 4 vs. Real Madrid 3 in 2003
What a match! What talent on both sides! Here's a video if you don't believe me:
Christiano Ronaldo did everything, making United fans rabid with joy, and alcohol, lots of alcohol. The best part, Beckham kicking the winner off the bench just before he signs with Real Madrid.
4. Chelsea 4 vs. Liverpool 4 in April 2009
Another Champions League match? No way! Those are never any fun. This game had all the speed and fury of great Champions League soccer. Liverpool charged back after a two goal deficit to make things interesting in this, the second leg of the quarter-final. No Steven Gerrard, no problem as there were goals a-plenty.
3. Barcelona 3 vs. Valencia 2 in June 2001
I've only seen highlights of this game, but it was recommended by a friend. This La Liga game is about as good as they come, watch:
2. Germany 0 vs. Spain 1 2008 Euro Final
This game had all the tension and skill you would expect from these two sides. It seemed bound for extra time and penalties until every German fan's worst nightmare occurred: a normally stout German defense gave Torres just a little sliver of room and the ball and it was all over. Great match by both sides, great television.
1. Liverpool 3 vs. AC Milan 3 2005 Champion's League Final
Of course the top game is from the Champion's League, your author wouldn't have it any other way. Liverpool made arguably one of the greatest comebacks in modern soccer. Down three goals at the half Liverpool had basically been written off, but stunning goals by Gerrard, Smicer, and Alonso tied the game up and sent it to extra time and eventually penalties where Liverpool won 3-2. Words don't do too much justice, so here's not one, but two vids!

I'm pretty sure I watched that 09 Liverpool vs Chelsea match. What about (I think this is right) the match between Chelsea and ManU in 08? I think it was for the UEFA (I'm not too sure). I just know that was like the first soccer match I really watched and I think it was pretty good.
